Corporate Venture Capital

Corporate venture capital (CVC) refers to (typically large) corporations making venture capital investments, typically in smaller startups. Examples include GV (formerly Google Ventures) and Intel Ventures.

CVC typically focuses less on financial returns and more on advancing strategic objectives.
