Welcome!

My name is Rylan Schaeffer. I’m currently an AI/ML Computer Science PhD student at Stanford in Professor Sanmi Koyejo’s STAIR lab researching the engineering, science and mathematics of intelligence. I am supported by a Stanford Data Science PhD Scholarship.

I have previously been a Research Science Intern on Meta GenAI’s LLM team, a Senior Research Associate in MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences, a Computer Science Master’s student at Harvard, a Research Engineer Intern at Google DeepMind, a full-time data scientist at Uber and more before that.
